Coming somewhere new with a small child always raises questions: will it suit their age, what should we wear, and what exactly will we be doing? Here is everything you need to know before your first Nurture Play session, so you can arrive relaxed and ready to explore.

Who sessions are for
Our sensory play sessions welcome children from 7 months to 12 years. The same environment inspires very different discoveries: an infant might simply watch materials move and feel a gentle texture, a toddler will fill, pour and repeat, and older children invent stories and experiments of their own.
Infants aged 7 to 12 months join at 50% off. At that age, quiet watching and reaching is exactly the right kind of play.
What to wear and bring
Wear something comfortable that can cope with a few splashes and marks, for children and grown-ups alike. A change of clothes for your child is a sensible extra, and grown-ups planning to roll up their sleeves and join in might want one too. We provide all the play materials, so beyond that, just bring your curiosity.
If your child has allergies, access needs or particular sensory preferences, tell us before the session. Materials change from one session to another, and knowing in advance helps us prepare a space where your child can take part safely and comfortably.

How a session flows
Each session is a collection of sensory and open-ended play invitations: textures to scoop and stir, water and foam, colour mixing, small-world play and room to move. Children move freely between the stations and return to their favourites as often as they like. There is no need to complete every one.
Caregivers stay close throughout, offering reassurance and sharing in the discoveries. If your child prefers to watch from your lap before diving in, that is a perfectly good way to join in. We never force participation; watching is participation.

The mess is our problem, not yours
We prepare the space, provide the materials and handle the cleanup, so you can focus on being present with your child. Expect a few splashes, expect a marvellous mess, and expect to leave it all behind when you go home.
New session dates are announced on Instagram first. Follow along, pick a date and come make a beautiful mess with us.
